This has been one of the busiest seasons of my life. I am on-the-go from the moment I open my eyes 'till the moment I shut them at night, and then, I am on the go in my sleep, up every 2 or 3 hours with my baby boy! Yes, the original Protected Bride had a little boy in January. He is so sweet! What an awesome addition to our family!!!!! I heart him. I heart him a lot.
There are lots of things I want to do such as projects at home..or simply writing about things that matter to me and connecting with people. There are all sorts of crazy misconceptions about God that I would love to address. I see broken teens in the news and I wish I could wrap them up tight in love and help to heal all their hurts and give them direction in life and a purpose other than self destruction! These have been taking a backseat for a short time while I am engaged in the things that are priorities in my life. And that's ok! I am still doing what I'm supposed to do, even though some days it may not seem that way. (Like when the house looks like a disaster area and everybody's hungry as bears and I'm trying to get a meal on the table that is not boxed, packaged, processed or created in a lab somewhere! etc etc.) Incidentally, I have some posts up my sleeve that should appear relatively soon, which include topics on food and the continuation in my series, A Protected Bride Celebrates! I'd also like to start some posts that deal with "christian-ese". You know what I mean? A lot of times words are thrown around without people truly knowing and understanding what they mean. Because people come from so many denominational backgrounds, I don't think we are talking the same language much of the time. I would like to simplify some of that.
Lest you think I am not having any fun though, or that I sit around and spiritualize everything all the time, I assure you, I've been having FUN trying to fit in real clothes again, and ditching the maternity wardrobe. Somewhere along the line, I read in a blog comment about Stitch Fix! What is THAT you ask? It is a genius idea, I tell you. GENIUS. This is an online styling service. You fill out your own personal style profile that includes your height, preferences, budget limit and such, and from that, a stylist sends you 5 items that they think you will like. The fee is $20 and that gets applied towards any purchase of the items. If you don't like them, you can send all 5 items back with no obligation to buy or extra shipping fees. You can sign up for a "Fix" as often as you like. The items they send are really cute! Just think - no crying children to drag around in the mall, no frustration trying on one item and then someone is hungry or needs to be changed!! Here is my referral link
If your friends and family use your link, you get a $25 credit to your account to use on a future purchase. I've already had one fix and it was really fun. You get excited thinking about what they'll send you and I really liked one of the dresses so I bought it. Bonus: my hubby liked it too!
So what am I doing with all the clothes that I don't fit in anymore? That's where my little business comes into play. I have really nice clothes that all these kids later, I just don't fit in anymore. I wish that I did. I payed good money for these items, a lot of which are in excellent condition, are great quality materials, or are barely worn. And some I've had since I was a size small, to which I have kissed those days goodbye, for now at least. I am really excited over them. All of these I'd buy myself if they fit me and all of them I am selling for $25 and under even though I payed a lot more for them! Some have minor repair issues that I don't have the time to do and I have them listed as specials. Every week, I upload new items such as kid's clothes, maternity, men's items (think Father's Day), even household items. Plus, for every holiday I am offering special discounts! Take a look at my new website and let me know what you think! Here is my official plug for Kim's $5-$25 Closet!
